Welcome, Families of St. John Fisher!
Welcome to our newly redesigned Faith Formation Program that ensures that we can provide a safe and flexible environment that does not compromise the quality of the Faith Education provided. Our goal continues to be that our youth develop a loving and powerful relationship with Jesus Christ that transforms their hearts and provides them with the tools to witness the faith by living the message of the Gospels. With that said, we have had to change our program location for elementary aged students, as we are no longer able to use space at Marlborough Elementary School.
We are excited to announce our new program, that we hope will allow us to partner more fully with our families. We have developed a multi-faceted program where some instruction will be online and some will happen in person at the church, unless local and state guidelines change. ZOOM classes will also be used as needed. Our new program combines catechesis, hands-on activities, family activities, prayer, Mass and service to others. As this year continues, our program may need to change and adapt and we thank you in advance for your patience, support and flexibility.
Live, in-person monthly classes will be meaningful and offer conversation, discussion and activities that cannot be fully duplicated online. However, we understand that for a multitude of health and safety concerns in-person education may not be possible for your child, even once a month. If, for any reason, your children cannot take part in the live component of the class, we will offer an entirely virtual option. Please inform either Theresa Brysgel (grades 1-8) or Jennifer O’Neill (Confirmation) of that decision as soon as possible. Please know that your child’s health and safety continue to be our top priority.
With all of this in mind we have created a program that revolves around three themes:

Here we will focus on the learning and teaching of our faith. Our
menu of activities and assignments will be focused on learning about Jesus, exploring the New Testament and the church today, and how it is relevant to children’s lives. |
|
Here we take what we have learned and put it into action by “practicing” our faith and aligning our lives with the life
of Jesus. At this step we go to Mass, write and reflect, engage in prayer, family activities and other grade appropriate, faith-oriented activities. |
|
Jesus tells us that our charge
is to go out into the world and be God’s light. Here we will suggest various age appropriate service activities that the children can do to help others, and truly spread that light and love of God. |
Please review the pull down menu for each age group to see how we plan to implement these themes throughout the year. As always, we look forward to partnering with you as we journey forward growing in faith and community. We invite you and your family to join us as we live, learn and love together.
Peace.
Peace.
